LMi.net Network StatusFriday, August 8, 2008 10:20am We are in the process of upgrading our mail servers. In this process, we've discovered that some users are checking their mail using a login of "USER@pop.lmi.net" or "USER@some domain". This will not work in the new system. If you are seeing password errors logging in to your account, please make sure you are logging in as just your username, and not your entire email. You can find instructions for changing your mail settings here.
Phishing Alert! Many of our customers have been getting emails that are supposedly from LMi, asking for personal information, such as passwords. These emails do not come from LMi. DO NOT respond to them! You can often spot the bogus emails by: -Email asks for your login name and/or password. -Return address of email is not an lmi.net address. -Poor spelling and grammar. LMi.net will never ask for your personal information via email. Outgoing Traffic from DSL/Dialup to port 25 (SMTP) We are in the process of disabling access outside the LMi network to port 25 (the outgoing mail/SMTP port), from our residential DSL and dialup customers. If you are a residential DSL or dialup customer and you run your own mail server, email service@lmi.net to opt out of this port blocking. For troubleshooting networking issues, use our network diagnostic tools (for LMi customers) or here's a traceroute page for testing connectivity.
