LMi.net Web Hosting Platforms

LMi.net offers three distinct hosting platforms:

Our Standard Platform is a traditional UNIX environment based on the FreeBSD 5.x operating system and is the best platform for customers who have basic hosting needs, or don't care which platform they use. Standard Platform customers use the services of LMi.net technical support staff to manage the administration of their site. Web sites are served with Apache, and we offer PHP, Perl, & Ruby on Rails for dynamic content and CGI programs. Besides FTP access, our UNIX systems support telnet and SSH shell access. In addition, MySQL databases are available on a separate, secure FreeBSD-based server.

We also offer the Windows Server System for users who have web applications based on Microsoft products, or prefer simply prefer IIS. Our Windows Server System is based on the latest production versions of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

The cPanel Hosting Environment provides a convenient graphical interface for managing your websites and hosted services, based on the cPanel web hosting control panel. It is intended for customers who wish to perform their own site management functions, and have more IT expertise. cPanel also uses the LAMP architecture (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP), and includes SSH shell access, FrontPage extenstions, statistics, mailing lists, and easy installation of many Open Source packages, including the popular osCommerce system for creating online stores.
